MicroSHADING vs manual microBLADING

Updated: Jul 9, 2021

It wasn't until I started doing permanent makeup that I learned about #powderbrows, also known as #microshading. I only thought there was one technique to eyebrow #permanentmakeup, and that was #manualmicroblading.

But this new powder brow technique is taking the permanent makeup industry by storm and is an AMAZING choice for ALL SKIN TYPES!

(Three perfect examples of #powderbrows)

What are powder brows?

It's a form of permanent makeup for your eyebrows where pigment is implanted under the surface of the skin with a #tattoomachine.

Unlike manual microblading, where tiny cuts are made in the skin to create hair-like strokes, microshading gently scratches the skin and deposits pigment to achieve a natural and powdery look.

This technique is perfect for ALL SKIN TYPES! Overtime, manual microblading work can easily heal poorly due to oils in the skin. Yes, those strokes may look fabulous on day 1, but I find that most of my clients come back wanting powder brows instead.

Manual microblading is GREAT for those who have dryer skin, but I highly recommend powder brows for any other skin type. It also lasts longer and is less traumatic to the skin!

Hopefully this clears up the difference between microshading/powder brows and manual microblading! If you have any other questions, feel free to email me at browboutiquecompany@gmail.com or text/call me at 443-896-4844.
